    Eco Activities

    Embark on a kayaking adventure by departing from the hotel’s pier. A route that will introduce you to the life and culture of the island. Paddle to Rilán, witnessing birds and Chilean dolphins en route.

    If you’re looking for a day out, why not explore the Tangled Chilote Forest? Found in Tepuhueico Park, a 20,000-hectare private conservation initiative. Walk beside 600-year-old mañio trees, before reaching the Rio Bravo Waterfall.

    Tierra Chiloé closes for the wild Chilean winter from 30 April until October.

    Although the adventure list is perfect for adults. Little explorers are welcome too, with the hotel’s professional guides going out of their way to include them.

    When you pack it’s good to be prepared for all seasons. The weather in Chiloe is changeable – on one day you might get glorious sunshine, and the next might bring cool wind and rainfall.

  • Location

    Chiloe island is a magical destination in Northern Patagonia. Tierra Chiloé is located on the main island of the Chiloé archipelago, in southern Chile. Surrounded by the channels and fiords of Northern Patagonia. The island is home to pastoral landscapes, fascinating flora, native woods, and tranquil waters and is famed for its iconic wooden churches.

    How To Get There

    Fly from Santiago to Puerto Montt, where the hotel will pick you up, there’s a 4-hour drive from here to reach Tierra Chiloé. This transfer also includes a ferry boat ride that lasts around 45 minutes.

    Alternatively fly from Santiago to Mocopulli Airport in Castro, the capital of Chiloé. This is a shorter transfer, as it takes 2 hours, with a 45-minute transfer by road to reach the hotel from the airport.

    implemented to help abolish the use of plastic bottles as guests can use this filtered water using the hotel’s reusable glass or stainless-steel bottles that are given to guests. For the transfers in and out of the hotel, JUST water initiative was implemented, contained in a paper bottle and sealed with a plant-based plastic lid. They also work with local farmers who fertilise the organic harvest from the hotel’s orchards and vegetable gardens. Tierra Chiloé have 20 hectares of land which we care for.
