Meet your Hosts
Meet Patricia and José Manuel, the owners of La Almunia del Valle. They run the hotel together, sharing both a love for the sustainable ethos of the hotel and a passion for travel.
When Patricia isn’t visiting new places to inspire her, you’re likely to find her sat around the fire with friends and a good glass of wine.
‘When we bought the house, it was clear that it had been built with respect for the natural surroundings. If you look at it from far away, you might not even realise that there is a house on the hill because it blends in so well with the surroundings.’

Need to Know
The hotel provides a homemade dinner menu Monday to Saturday. There is no dinner service on a Sunday.
The must-visit Monachil town is 1km downhill from the hotel. It is popular with nature lovers as well as skiers.
Walking the Los Cahorros in Monachil is incredible with hanging bridges and stunning views. But best to avoid weekends if possible, as it can get busy crossing the bridges.

The 13,000 m2 of La Almunia del Valle includes farmland with olive, almond and fruit trees as well as a slope of uncultivated land with oaks, esparto grass, pines, cypresses and herbs. "Just a tremendous experience all the way around"
Incredible service is probably the thing we will most remember. The room, the views, and the food are all incredibly memorable as well. It's such a quiet, relaxing spot, and yet only 20 minutes from Granada and an hour from the Mediterranean beaches.

"An absolute gem!"
The decor was lovely, with a large bath/shower tiled with blue iridescent tiles in a Moorish theme. The super king bed was extremely comfortable made up with sumptuous high quality cotton bedding.

"What a wonderful hotel! "
Hidden away in the hills, yet surprisingly close to Granada. Intimate and yet with every facility one could wish for. Many lovely shared spaces and yet the rooms offered all the privacy of a home. The owners are a delight and could not have been any more attentive or helpful. And the view across the valley is arrestingly beautiful.

Situated at the edge of the Parque Nacional Sierra Nevada, this boutique hotel has a unique view from the terrace. The owners made this a beautiful and cosy place. Each room is uniquely styled by Patricia. The garden is lush and green with lots of fruit. Food is great.
